About KAGE

KAGE began in 2004 as the Department of Gastroenterology at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, built by senior faculty including Dr. Nagarjuna Kumar, Dr. Sethu Babu, and Dr. Ajith Kumar. Over two decades, the department has grown into a 13-consultant team — the largest gastroenterology consultant group among corporate hospitals in the state — spanning general gastroenterology, hepatology, pediatric GI, and advanced interventional and third-space endoscopy.

Under the leadership of Dr. Sreekanth Appasani, the department has been formally recognised as a National Skill Development Centre by ERBE for Third Space Endoscopy & Advanced Gastroenterology, and KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad holds CAHO recognition as a Centre of Excellence in Endoscopy Services — both specific, third-party-assessed credentials tied directly to this department's endoscopic work, not general hospital-wide claims.

KIMS Hospitals' own institutional mission centres on providing affordable, patient-centred care and clinical outcomes driven by modern medical technology, alongside a genuine commitment to academics and medical research. That framework shapes how KAGE operates day to day:

KAGE operates within KIMS Hospitals (Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences), one of India's largest corporate healthcare groups.
