Introduction
Beyond patient care, KAGE runs two structured academic training programs — one for gastroenterologists building expertise in endoscopic ultrasound, and one for technicians training toward a career assisting advanced endoscopic procedures. Both are paid, competitive-entry, hands-on programs run by faculty who perform these procedures daily, not a theoretical curriculum removed from clinical practice.

Application process
- Applications are submitted through the hospital portal
- Candidates are shortlisted and selected through an interview process
- For the EUS fellowship: applicants must have already completed and passed their DM or DrNB specialty exams before applying
- For the Technician Training Programme: applicants must have completed and passed their 12th-grade exams; nursing or science/technical graduates are given preference

Trainees get access to the hospital canteen with food cards (at their own cost), and the department assists with finding accommodation, but trainees are responsible for arranging their own stay and transport.
Successful completion leads to a Certificate/Degree in Endoscopy Technician, following a theory exam at the end of year one and a practical exam at the end of a stipend-paid internship year.
KAGE has stated an intent to try to accommodate graduates within the hospital chain where a need exists and the candidate is agreeable — this is a stated intention, not a guarantee, and should be worded accordingly.

No prior clinical experience is required — the program is structured to build from foundational lectures and observation through to supervised hands-on assistance over the full two years.
The EUS fellowship is ₹1.5 lakh, payable in full before joining. The Technician Training Programme is ₹1 lakh total, paid as ₹50,000 annually over the 2 years. Neither accepts cash or part payments; all payments go directly to the KIMS Hospitals account.
